Remote jamming

Location: JOHANNESBURG
Crime Date: 14 July 2013
Reported Date: 14 July 2013

Remote jamming

I parked my car next to another car on Lilian (1st parking closest to main) at the intersection of Lilian and Main in Fordsburg. There were car guards and other person by the traffic light.  I jumped out my vehicle and waited for my son to place his blue 3DS and four games into the centre console (which also had my garmin) and clos the cover. I waited for him to jump out and armed the vehicle but did not check if it was locked. As I crossed the Lillian road I pressed the arm button again and then proceed to our appointment. On returning I disarmed the vehicle but did hear the disarmed tone. When we look into the centre console the 3DS, games, Garmin and a packet with some clothes (rear seat floor) were not there. We then realised that we had been robbed of these items.

Location: PRETORIA
Crime Date: 10 June 2013
Reported Date: 10 June 2013

REMOTE JAMMED HANDBAG STOLEN

Please that that the person driving this vehicle is responsible for theft of a handbag from a vehicle by jamming the remote meaning your car will not lock as you walk off.

This occurred on Willem Botha Drive - Eloraigne this morning at just after 7:00 am- In front of a nursery school - Apparently parents taking small kids to school are targeted as they rarely double check if their vehicles are locked when walking in to quickly drop off kids at nursery schools.

Please circulate these pictures to your schools in the area and be alert. Any valuables left in your vehicle will be stolen without your alarm being activated.

Weirdabrug Police Station details: 012 6580000

Car Thieves

Location: Randburg
Crime Date: 29 May 2013
Reported Date: 30 May 2013

Car Thieves

Please be on the lookout for a white Toyota corollaReg.  CYX276GP.  This car follows you until you park somewhereand then jams your remote signal when you try to lock your car.  They waitfor you to leave then open your car and steal any valuables inside yourcar.  My mom was their victim yesterday when she parked at work (Centre atDross on Malibongwe, Randburg).  A tall African male (late 30’s with abig build) got out of the Corolla and opened up my mom’s car looking forvaluables… When he couldn’t find anything in the car or boot of the car hewanted to enter the studio where my mom worked to get the car keys (my mom’scar can’t be hotwired).  Luckily security saw him approach the studio andhe ran back to his car and drove away.  This event was captured on CCTV

Smash and Crab

Location: JOHANNESBURG
Crime Date: 15 March 2013
Reported Date: 15 March 2013

Smash and Crab

Guy approached my passenger side window, pretended to beg and when I looked away attempted to smash my window with a rock. The worst part is that it is only 1km away from the Yeoville police station. When the window did not smash he just looked at me and turned around, walked away slowly and proceeded to look for a bigger rock!

Attempted theft of fuel tank

Location: CAPE TOWN
Crime Date: 4 November 2012
Reported Date: 9 November 2012

Attempted theft of fuel tank

At 11:30 pm on Sunday 4 Nov 2012, I heard loud shouts from my neighbours and went outside to investigate. They had seen a man lying underneath my vehicle, the man ran off when they shouted.

The suspect had unbolted the harnesses of my vehicle's fuel tank, cut all of the connecting pipes and fuel lines, and had dropped the tank down onto the road. The tank would have vanished in 5-10 minutes, if not for my neighbours.

The repair bill was R2400.00. This is the 4th incident in the same spot, worst being a stolen vehicle. Karma will surprise these guys soon enough.
