TMobiles - Mobile subscription fraud

I have just received the following message from 'Tmobiles':

"Yello! TMobiles debited your account for R5.00 for content "Inspirational Quotes". Please contact them if you wish to query the transaction. To opt-out of these *MTN billing notifications, at no charge, please SMS "STOP" to 30540. (SMS are sent between 08h00 and 19h00). MTN"

This is complete fraud. I have never subscribed either by SMS or online to any mobile subscriptions. I phoned MTN(083 173) and cancelled the subscription, but they say there's basically no chance of getting your money back. They gave me the following number to contact TMobiles: 0861 876 566

If anyone has any further info on these guys, please post. I'm keen to take these guys down or fraud.

For information TMobileSA and Mr Lebepe continue to not respond apart from legal action against individuals and also now against MTN. Why are they hiding and even while they aware if the web postings and potray themselves as social media and communication they do not provide their side of the story. However they have put in writing that they made an "error" and will refund direct and indirect cost? But talk is cheap and maybe they just looking at other ways to take advantage of the public! MTN is taking action and their management are clear on resolving. Vodacom seems to have blocked TMobile already. MTN SP are also proactive and open in communication. Autopage I'd listening but yet to take positive action however management has agreed to a meeting on Monday. We still do not know where TMobile obtained our information from or any resolution what is preventing similar incidents in the future. Do please keep your complaints coming and do not forget to copy!

See updates on MTN is now coming to the party. However no joy from Autopage and TMobileSa continue to operate trying to extract additional information and giving out information via their call centre. Please send complaints and demands to put a stop to them, recover money and costs, and get your information removed from their systems and protected!

Surely we are all no protected by the wonderful Consumer Act? I pay MTN, they are in control of my account. They have no authority to release any funds without my consent and, if it happens, they should be obligated to return my money and cancel any unauthorised deductions. Surely? This is MTN's responsibility. At least it is in my case. The other networks may be responsible in other peoples'. So how do we enforce this progressive new consumer act? Why make them if they can't be enforced? What now?

I also received the same message on 30/04/2011. I am a MTN and Autopage subscriber and it seems to me that this is where the problem lies. If they can't do anything to stop criminals from stealing their customers' money, then maybe they do not deserve to have customers at all.

I received the exact same message! I have never subscribed to this service. T his type of fraud is definitely no on! I hope MTN has done something to deter this in future!

I think this disgusting, ludicrous and absolutely unacceptable. i tried contacting autopage directly and I get this annoying voice saying to contact tmobile directly and give you some ph numbers. When I try and contact them the phone just continuosly rings and then goes to voicemail. I can't believe that there is no option to speak to an autopage consultant directly. Seriously thinking about leaving autopage cellular and switching over to Vodacom as well

See comments on The only cause of action is to get MTN, Autopage to react and stop supporting these criminals. Also look at the clients the company uses and blacklist them for supporting criminals! Let us vote with our feet and not support them with legal money!
