Wow! I received a sms telling me that I won $750,000USD from Nokia Global Promotion somewhere last week April 2014. It sounds like a spam when they did not tell me on what contest furthermore I am not Nokia user. After I read all the comments here, I am so lucky I did not reply to them.

I received an email from a company called Pasa Property. I was looking for two tenants for my property so asked for their assistance , a guy by the name of Edward called me and we arranged to meet this monday morning, I felt a bit suspicious so decided to go with my gut feel and went on the website and looked at the address it was 3 Roy Campbell st Brackenhurst, so I drove there to find it was a residential house and no one knew anything about pass properties. I then called Edward back on 011 0246206. the number did not exist. I googled his name and number and found various companies with his name cypher prop etc..... are people starting to scam with properties now?

  • SuA 15 Feb 2012, 10:06 AM

  • steve22 17 Nov 2011, 09:28 AM

So what was the purpose of RICA? Surely the police can trace these fraudsters who faithfully supplied their detail information (residential address and ID - remember) like we all HAD to when we were FORCED to register. The Act assigns responsibility and accountability to various people and must therefore be part of their job descriptions (read performance management and bonuses) and they are: Minister responsible for Communication Minister responsible for Intelligence Services Officer of the South African Police Head of Investigating Directorate Independent Communication Authority of SA Director of Special Operations Independent Complaints Directorate National Commissioner Director of Office for Interception Centres For further fun see http://www.info.gov.za/acts/2002/a70-02/ Or is it the case of too many cooks(spelling correct) spoils the broth?

  • Charl3 17 Nov 2011, 07:02 AM

Got an sms at midnight last night informing me that I have won R125,000 in nokia yearly promotion, with a reference number. It said to contact the agent Mr Fred William on 0785471462. Mr Fred William informed me that I would need to purchase R110 Vodacom Airtime and phone him back to activate my reference number. When I asked for a land line number to phone him back on, he gave some Cape Town number (021) 813 9641, and said it was the Head Office there, and that they were based in London. He asked for my physical address, which I refused, I was glad to offer my postal address. I phoned off a land line and not my cellphone. I am 100% sure this is a scam! However, this is hurting the image of Nokia and Vodacom, and something needs to be done about it!!!

I received a sms today stating that I have won R150000 and that I must contact Mr Williams Smith on 0785288091 and quote ref no: 0029N/P How stupid does this person think we are. But sadly there are a few that fall prey to these people. And it is normally people who can ill afford to part with their money.

  • Betta Wenner 3 Aug 2011, 11:32 AM

Moenie die ou bel nie!! Hy kry geld vir elke oproep. Dit werk soos die liefdadigheids organisasies se nommers. Elke oproep kos baie meer as gewone tarrief en hy kry die wins.

I am also a winner with ticket number 0029. to claim contact Mr Williams Smith on 0787172429 From 0713946534 15/06/2011 02.03. I phoned Vodacom to complain about my number being given out. I actually was able to speak to a living person who said they that Vodacom would not give out cell numbers and that the above two numbers were not Vodacom but she would try and ring it, subscriber was unavailable. She when gave me Nokia call centre number, after waiting for about 20 minutes I think I did get through to a living person who cut me off and left me to record how happy I was with their service.
