The headless, naked body of a Mozambican man has been found in the bushes in the Tonga area, Mpumalanga police said on Tuesday.
A cattle-herder made the discovery in Tatazela section at around 6pm on Sunday, Lt-Col Leonard Hlathi said.
The body was in an advanced state of decomposition. A
head was found by another passer-by on Monday morning in the same area,
about five kilometres away.
"The motive for the murder is not known and the body seems to have been lying there for several days," Hlathi said.
The man, believed to be in his mid-30s, had been identified but his name was not released.
Hlathi said the residents described him as a kind person who earned a living by building houses for people in the area.
A case of murder had been opened for investigations. No arrests were made.Sapa
