I recieved an sms tody this morning from one Mr John Davis  who claims to be a consulting agent for Nokia. His details are and (0715185305).In his message he said i should email him to claim my prize.I suspected there and then that it was a scam because having won R95000 and a Nokia E65 phone without even entering a competition.Yes he said it was a random selection and my sim number was chosen.Secondly the competition  was done in U.K.In the message there was a code 0166N.I acted out  of sheer curiosity and emailed him.He replied within minutes and asked for my bank details and said I should buy R400 worth Telkom Prepaid airtime.I called him to ask the reasons why i should buy the airtime and he said its procedural protocol.By then i was now convinced that this is a scam.As a foreigner who did not acted out of impulse i would like to warn the public because for warned is for armed.I don't mind if you publish my name and details because i want the public to know because I am deeply concerned. For starters one should Google about the competition and you will be shocked that the same code:0166N have been used for the past 2 years.Secondly one should ask to speak to the Competition Manager and don't redeem your prize alone when you go in person. For more info your first port of call should be

Hi, thanks for the warning on the website. I received an sms this morning that I won R950 000 in the Nokia Annual competition. Before I contacted the person who is apparently the agent whom to contact to collect my prize money, I decided to google this competition and see for myself what is going on. It is odd to win such a huge amount of money without entering a competition. Thanks for the people out there, who still take the time to warn the public. Regards,

I almost fell for his blackberry promotion. Lukilly I search it and found out a lot of things. Thank you. I also received the sms about winning R500000 and a blackberry 9900. I also had to send him 2 pin numbers of 2 R200 Telkom prepaid vouchers. Lukilly I did not. But I did give him my name, age and ofcourse he knows my number which he sent the sms to. What can I do now?

We love responsible foreigners and Iam happy you did not fall for this one.Mr John Davis is going down whatever he calls this one because people have reacted and people at my work have learnt a lesson or two from you to be insightful and critical because if you will rush you will crush.Investigations should be done i called the number and i talked to this scammer he wants money.Police should intervene trace the given numbers because there is no element of lies i actually heard him saying iam a consulting manager for NOKIA , not longer an agent
