Groke Cylinders - SCAM - using DMR RFQ

NOMSA phoned to ask us to quote for Groke Cylinders. I told her we do not supply goods we are not that kind of business. She said so.. it doesn't matter you can still supply!! Anyway I played along. She sent me an RFQ from Department of Mineral Resources. I sent a quote and as I was not serious about this and loaded the quote! Within a few minutes the email was opened (really! Government never operates that quickly!) I checked the email address out and was immediately suspicious nomsa.lebaka@ tel: number 012 757 6719..... .I googled the DMR got their number 012 341 8932 checked their email address also their address was slightly different. Phoned DMR and they confirmed this is scam....The next day NOMSA phoned me to say they dont make payment before delivery.. (On the ball for government department hey?) I told her I do not supply anything unless payment is received first.. and that was that. OH she said OK .. and put the phone down

Hi all. I am a victim of this scam. Lost a lot. Police does nothing. Hired a PI. All resulted in more losses. This morning 18.10.2016 at 8:04 the phone line 012 757 67 19 is still active, keeping on the good work. I did inform the police. Lets see this time. You can call me on 082 786 3695 Krasi.

Hi there. My company also gets regular calls and emails from people posing as government departments looking on quotes for cylindars amongst other things. I also got one from "Nomsa Lebaka". Interesting note... I opened the attached PDF and looked at the metadata on the file which lists the document author as "katshade'bank". I googled this man and found a facebook profile of Ugandan man. All pictures of him involve bags of money, expensive cars etcetera. In his about page he calls himself a Harvard Graduate and a philanthropist. Further investigation shows he was arrested for procurement fraud but then released. As these e-mail are still coming from his computers I take it the legal proceedings have dropped away. Check out the metadata on your document and have a look. Might even have a address for this guy online somewhere.
