The Cape of Good Hope Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) on Monday said it was investigating how two horse heads ended up in a Cape Town shopping centre.

A member of the public found the remains wrapped in a black plastic bag inside the Golden Acre Shopping Centre on Sunday.

The SPCA's Lamees Martin said: "We are trying to get hold of video footage from the mall. At the moment we're just doing all we can to determine what happened."
