I received this SMS from 081 252 4585: Congrats! Your cellphone no has won R250 000 on this Year 2012 Nokia Promotion with ticket no: 0166p call 078 650 3337 for your prize claim. 8am-5:30pm (Mon-Fri)
There are similar scams reported on various websites, so this is obviously a scam. Nokia has released a statement saying that they aren't involved in any lottery type competitions. |

I called 0710996852 to claim my R175000 i was told to buy a Vodacom R110 airtime for procedings, i then got to the internet and gooled on this only to find it was a scam and when i called back the number was no longer available.

Also got an sms from 0712815452 congratulating me for my mobile having won R450000 on NOKIA PROMOTION with ticket no 0166p for claim call Mrs Lucia Khumalo on 0782557093 from 9am to 5pm. Called the number and there is no response. Fishy fishy!!!! smell a rat!!!

I also received the same message "Congratulations! Your cell phone number has won, R150,000.00. in the NOKIA 2012 Award draw,your Ref.no. NK774 Call, Claim Centre @0787382125 for More details.". I ignored the 1st one and they sent me 3 more messages and i dont even use a nokia how i win when i use a different model. stupid fraudster

I just got an SMS telling me that I won R150,000 from NNOKIA YEARLY PROMOTION and my ref no:010 KP so I called the number provided to me,and they told me to buy R55 Vodacom and send it to them so that they can activate my winning code as they where going to send a cheque to my home address.I check the Promotion on a internet and call them back he answered and I Asked himWHY am I getting the same person that I spoke to earlier on its suppose to be call centre so calls are answer randomlly and I asked him to allow me to talk to someone else and gues what the stupid guy walks with the phone and give It to someone and not transfering it. I asked him WHY they do not USE the money that they giving away to improve their CALL CENTRE and he droped the phone.

This morning around 12:00 I received the same sms and they congratulated Me, about My winning of a 275 000 from Nokia Yearly promotions. Ticket Number UK22ZA, their number is 076 470 1830. I called the number and they took My cell Number, which they obviously knew before even asking, and they wanted to know My ticket Number, I asked of the Guy to call Me as His line was not clear, what He said was He can't, and His Name apparently is Timothy He said...

Just past 8 o'clock this morning the same "happy" news. Mobile number selected in the 2012 Nokia Yearly Promotion. Ticket number NYP847C. Princely sum of R250 000.00. That's a whack for an early Tuesday morning in a slow month of February. It was sent from 076 095 6709. Response contact is one "Margaret vd Merwe" @ 076 771 2132. Needless to say when we called from an ID barred number this number was constantly "busy".

Received an sms this morning at 7.14am 8th June 2012 saying " Congratulations your cell phone number has won R150,000.00 in the NOKIA 2012 AWARD draw. Your ref no. UKNPSA Call, Claim Centre on 0218241756 for details. from 0826439356.
Do these guys think we are stupid, well ok maybe some people are, or they would not be doing this. Can they not be caught by using the rica info centre, I thought this was what rica was for...to catch the bad guys. Or was the whole of RSA caught with this rica crap.

My mom just phoned me with this huge excitement. She received an sms saying that she's won R196,000.00 from the Yearly Nokia Promotion, with the reference number of 019NKP. she asked me to call James Mooer @ 078 632 0759 and give him her details(bank accounts, id number and all) as he required them. I thought it was a bit unreal and I googled it, guess what it's a scam!!! sho, my mom is going to be very disappointed.
