I just received this same sms, already find out about flights costs to Port Elizabeth, but before booking I luckily decided to see whether I could find anything on the website regarding the truth / scan of this company. And receive enough info to realize it is a scam! Thanks everyone! Save me costs and time!

Hi, I just received the same sms: CONGRATS! YOU ARE A LUCKY WINNER OF R350,000 FROM iTECH ATM PROMO. REF#IT55UK. TO CLAIM VISIT - www.itechza.com. How stupid do these people think we are? Actually, I shouldn't make such a statement, as some people did pay the agent fees already - no pun intended people, but first, look at the website address, itechza (referring to South Africa) but a .com (referring to overseas) at the end? Tel no's shows Gauteng but address shows PE. Wonder if you will even find anyone at this address if you actually go there? Chances are this house is abandoned or the address has been chosen randomly. If that's the case, poor guy who lives there! This seriously aggravates me, coz people like us, working our butts of to make ends meet, end up, paying these scams and lose the little they have left because they thought this is the end of all their worries. Hope they get caught and very soon!

  • melanie11 30 Jul 2012, 10:39 AM

Thank goodnis for google. Lol almost got in my car and drive all the way from limpopo to PE.

  • W.Gloy 25 Jul 2012, 12:18 PM

And also as far as I can see on this site only there allready obout 20 people that got a sms.Are they going to give each and every one R350 000.Bullshit man!!!!!!

  • Konrad 25 Jul 2012, 11:57 AM

Surely with the new Rica system these guys can be traced and brought to justice. Oh wait, its the new SA and surely the SAPS won't even bother to find these scammers.

  • Ant69 24 Jul 2012, 09:39 AM

Some people seem to have paid the R900 - If they get 100 people to pay R900 that = R90k!!! Wow - who thinks of these SCAMS!

My dear Portia....nice try! What is YOUR real name ?!

  • Educated 11 Jul 2012, 08:17 PM

Please people this is a scam. It blows my mind that in this day & age, ppl are still falling for these scams. Why would anybody send you an SMS or email if you have won so much money, surely, in such a case the promotions company will call u personally or visit you. Educate yourself! By the way, the comment by Portia is definitely someone part of this scam...come on, its so obvious. Big props to those involved in this syndicate, if ppl are foolish enough 2 give up their hard earned money so easily...well then, they deserved to loose it...a fool & his money! @ Terry...I 2nd ur sentiments. It jst makes me so angry that ppl fall for this nonsense. Well done to the syndicate but u will soon be caught. The big man never sleeps. To those who lost money, I certainly hope u learned your lesson.

I received my sms yesterday, I cheched out the website and phoned the number supplied. I know I must be carefull of scams, soI started to search the adress given. Also saw the house and not the beautifull office building as the website picture. But when I read all the comments above I knew. My code is the same.... What is the chance? O, the website was registered the 31/5/212, with an adress in Gauteng. To think, I nearly bougt my ticket to PE.

  • Tommie2 6 Jul 2012, 03:02 PM

I knew it was a scam when I went onto the site. they have a button to show their "products" (ATMs). I was not able to click on any of their products for more details or to order any atms, so... SCAM! I just saved at least R900.
