Hey Guys, Auto Trader won't take responsibility for any fraud, as specified in their terms & conditions. And sadly, our South African Police services is not the best. They also make use of an unknown providers if you look at the e-mail addresses they use. Isn't it possible to reverse the payments at your banking facility? Follow this url http://www.autotrader.co.za/latest-scams to submit the scams. Best of luck.

Same thing. I wanted to buy a Quad bike that was advertised on auto trader. The guy emailed me and told me that he lived in SA but moved to the UK with his wife and kids.Tobias Hermann,tobias.hermann@aol.com He also told us that we have to pay the money through car sales network http://www.car-sales-network.com. That the seller is going to pay the shipping ect. We realised it was a scam because we came accross the actual website of car sales network.

I'm busy with the same scam. Exact same thing just a different name. Has Auto Trader come back to you on this at all? I reported it to them as well but no feedback. Someone in SA is placing these ads and on the one I'm interested in, a local CPT fax number was listed. Surely Auto Trader staff took pics of the vehicles and have details of the who placed the ad? We need to fuck these guys up!
