i work on the corner of Eloff and Albert Str in Johannesburg and sometimes i leave early to fetch my wife from work. most of the time when i leave early at around 16h30 the traffic is backed up from albert str until the on ramp to the highway. luckily for me i have made have e a habbit of not stopping too close behind the car infront of me so that i at least have an ascape route. on this occasion as i crossed the robot leading under the bridge there was three guys stading on the centre island deivding the two roads, i just knew these guys were robbing people. it ll happened in seconds , as i stopped they approached my car screaming, "GIVE ME YOUR FUCKEN PHONE OR I WILL KILL YOU", i immediatly accelerated closing the gap between myself and the car infront of me, they then chased after me and proceeded to try and break my window. i then reversed. i was moving forward and backward a couple of times until they gave up.
luckily this time once again i managed to escape again. this is the third time this month that the same guy has tried to rob me.
i wish to god that there would be police patrolling at these intersections as every day i fear for my life leaving work.
i also would love to partake or contribute towards hiring a private security company to patrol these areas as i am sure that i am not the only one who either gets robbed here or attempted to get robbed.
