Someone opened an account at Rochester Home Furniture in Polokwane using my identity, the furniture they took under my name is worth R30 000.00.I have never been in Polokwane and I do not even know the place. The person also took 2 contract phones at cell C which one of the phones is paying R373.01 each month. what surprices me is that I have never lost my ID book. That person managed to draw a 3 months bank statement at Absa of my account which she/he submitted at the shop for the account to be approved. The only way I found about this was when I decided to close my bank account because the shop could not take money from my account. Rochester Furniture store did not have anything of that particular person but the contact number of that person which I personnaly phoned and the person answered the phone but did not want to give me any answers I needed. Currently when I try calling the number the phone just rings and no one is answering it. I asked Rochester Home Furniture to send me the ID copy the member submitted so that I can see the photo on that ID copy but they refused. Cell C Atteridgeville branch could not help me with anything because they say the member took those contract phones over the phone so they do not have anything with them but the time the member opend that contract with them.
