The SAPS exist soley for the benefit of the ruling party and the benfit of SAPS members. That's why so many criminals are in uniform. Personal dealing with this lot show that one sometimes has to threaten the station commander with a formal complaint at the Indepedant Complaints Directive before any action occurs. Files are simply closed, or lost to make it seem as if they are actually doing any real work. Prostitution is a way for some to survive, no more, no less. While some would use drugs, look at how many SAPS members are involved in the latter trade.

Typical SAP's.always after the soft target! But when it cones to the hard crimes ,murder ,rape.attacking the elderly in their homes, they are nowwher to be found....nor do they seem able to solve the tough crimes.Quite pathetic!

I am an activist against trafficking. Much of what Mornay says is correct. Much of the drug taking arises from the stress of being in this industry and some brothel owners are traffickers who prey on those looking for jobs. Many take drugs offered by other workers because the secrecy, the fines the treatment, the having no option of what they can do with the men. So arresting the girls will not solve that problem. Yes some are religious. Thye ofete nhave few real friends. Many would leave but WHO helps them. Who will give them a fair job, or offer them training? How can they leave? Business and others can support NGO help groups like STOP who do great work.

Why bother with so called sex workers, they are doing no harm I personally know a few of them and they have become my good friends they are not bad women, and do what they are doing out off dire need and to survive, many of them have families to support, and children in school. I do not consider what they are doing a crime.Nor are they all drug users, that belief is a fallacy. Many of them are also very religious and go to church regularly. The SAP should connetrate on the real criminals who steal our cars break into our houses and sell drugs to our children etc. LEAVE THE SEX WORKERS ALONE

David that is such an ignorant comment, if you want to get rid of the drug problem decriminalize drugs, locking up users achieves nothing. Also decriminalize prostitution, once you have legal escort agencies then there wont be a need for men to go to the dodgy illegal brothels with trafficked girls. Of course this country has too many closed minded conservatives to ever allow that

It is great to see that the police are actually doing their work. The problem with these sex workers are that they are and most of them are drug users. So, if you want to control the massive drug problem here in the Cape you need to deal with these drug users i.e. the sex workers. And seeming from the comments above their clients as well. But saying all of that, lets hope that Cape Town's biggest Madam Agent T will be next. This female sends girls on dance contracts and when they get to the clubs they are forced to have sex with men. So, lets hope the police gets Theresa next!
