Happy that there is progress in this case.

Dear Penny Thank you. I doubt they realy are registered with KUSA, but that they say this to get more interest and response from the ad. I will, nontheless, contact them. I hope they accept just a cell number without a name. Thank you very much for your concern. Dave, any word from the SPCA? Kind regards Nicole

The ad placed by this breeder says the dogs are KUSA registered - KUSA must also intervene - Kennel Union of South Africa and their number is 021 423 9027. They register pure bred dogs and animals get better prices if registered with them, but they have also have a responsibility to the animals. Try them.

Francis, I contacted them and they do not have the legal mandate to intervene. Dave, any luck with the SPCA? Have they investigated? Does anyone know how I can get hold of Dave? No luch with Mafikeng SPCA.

Do some one know about a charity that also will be able to help Nicole in the Lichtenburg area?

  • Unknown 21 May 2010, 08:34 AM

Hi Nicole, by the looks of it the closes SPCA to there is Mafikeng and the number there is (018) 381 0374. Regards Etienne

I am the person who placed the ad and, like I said to Dave, I cannot find a contact number for the SPCA in Lichtenburg. If anyone here can, please, please post it here and I will phone. I only reported it in this format as a last resort. None of the other SPCA's have a number or even know of the area!

Can the person who placed this add please contact the SPCA directly and let us know what happened!

Any news regarding this poor dogs conditions?

  • Unknown 13 May 2010, 02:56 PM

Hi Dave, the reported date is the date the user added the incident on the website.

  • Unknown 13 May 2010, 01:24 PM

Further to my previous comment, the reported date gives the impression that the report has been submitted to an SPCA on that particular date, that is not so unless reportacrime telephones an SPCA and advises them accordingly.

Have you contacted any SPCA to look into this? If not, I will forward it to our Society Liaison Unit. I'm afraid that this is a typical example of people using e-mails to report cruelty which is why we expressed our concerns to you with regard to the potential delays in getting assistance to a suffering animal. 702's Crimeline as well as the Community Police website have inserted a direct link to our list of SPCA telephone numbers so that any changes will be reflected on their link. Please consider doing the same, it would be most appreciated. We cannot spend valuable time surfing the internet looking for websites and blogs that have animal cruelty reports on them.
