Colombian soccer players robbed by cleaners

Colombian soccer players were reportedly the victims of thieves at their plush Johannesburg hotel. Two female employees, apparently cleaning ladies, of the Hyde Park Southern Sun Hotel have allegedly appeared in court for stealing about R20 000 from the footballers. "There was theft out of their rooms. They went out for about an hour to practise and the rooms were cleaned while they were out," Colonel Eugene Opperman told Sapa. "When they came back they discovered there was some money missing." The Colombian side is in the country to play against Bafana Bafana. The local team won Thursday night's match 2-1. Charges against a third woman were dropped. Eyewitness News
