My friend and I were travelling to EL when a traffic officer stopped us. It was dusk, in a rural area. He said we'd exceeded the speed limit and effectively wanted a bribe. I thought he was joking and he got aggressive and said the "larneys" must go to jail. He was intimidating and confusing. My friend gave him R100 for "lunch money" (he asked for it when she kept saying she wasn't exceeding the speed limit) as we were actually getting scared and were 2 females with 2 small children in the car, and he was getting aggressive. I think his shirt said "Bosman". Was a coloured man, with a beanie, but had the traffic vehicle and camera out. It sounds stupid, and we are angry that the amount was paid, but he was getting aggressive and wanted my friend to get out the car, and he was threatening to lock her up. Out of interest, his name label was on the left side of his shirt, but other traffic officers in the area have their names embroidered on the right. (I stopped and spoke to legitimate cops on the Sunday following).
