property rental scam


We received this offer and we indicated our interest in renting. According to the procedure we sent our data and copies of passports. We are worried about what she can do with our passport copies. Please advise us. Thank you. 
We saw in Bagarette Karen Mary Google Search that she is uses the following scam:

First of all , I want to tell you that if you are ready to proceed with this transaction I will need to inform you the steps about how this service works.You will have 2 days to inspect the apartment before your final decision to rent. I will pay the shipping costs.

This is how they work :

1) I will make the delivery papers at WorldWide Moving. The shipping company its called : WorldWide Moving (www.worldwidemoving.co.uk)After that I will send you a copy of the delivery bill. (For my secure please send me your passport). 

2) After I will make the papers for delivery they will require for your payment confirmation of the first month and the guarantee deposit(R5000 + R5000 = R10000) to the company. WorldWide Moving will send you a delivery notification to let you know they have the Keys and the papers in their custody .Also WorldWide Moving will give you further instructions about the money deposit .

3) After the payment is confirmed the delivery process will start and when you will receive the keys, you will have 2 days inspection period before your final decision to rent.

4) If all is in order, you will instruct WorldWide Moving to give me the money. Further rents will be sent directly to my bank account.

5) If you refuse to rent the apartment, WorldWide Moving will give you a full refund (R10000) and you will give them back the keys and the contract.

We noticed that someone is scamming us and making our company . We are reverting all this info to the police in order to investigate but the police as Always cannot do too much. I ask your help. Please let me know where you did take these info and where did you click in order to get this fake message. Worldwidemoving.co.uk is a serious company which has nothing to do with this fake messages. please help us to find out who is behind this fake messages and that try to pick money from people in the illegal way. He says this property is in the Four Season's block, but upon calling the body corporate, they indicated it is indeed a scam. His adverts are on OLX and on Gumtree.

    This exact person did exactly the same with us aroundthe same date! We lost all our money. Please be careful it's actually a guy. The name the person gives as an agent is this 'mary's' real name!
