Caught by a Fraudster Scammed out of R350

A man named Paul arrived at our business address at 06:00 in the morning (we are a 24 hour garage) and told us that he is the sole proprietor of The Maintenance & Handyman Master which is a very reputable business in the area. He said he had a very sick child but the ATM swallowed his card and he desperately needed R350. He would be back the same day (after the banks opened) to pay us back. It's now a week later and he is ignoring our phone calls. He also trades as the Rubble and Refuse Masters and drives a vehicle (Pajero NP56109). He claims to have no id and no drivers license (he claims to have lost it).

This same man Paul was hooting at our gate in Scottsville Pietermaritzburg around 9pm on a Saturday night early in February he told us his wife had been in an accident on the highway with his 1 year old child. Same story ATM had swolled his card and needed R600,00 urgently and left his "bussiness card" with us. He returned the Sunday and he did come full of hugs and thanks but only to ask for another R250,00 for petrol so he could go see his family in hospital and would pay us on the Monday when the banks opened. The said his wife was critical and baby had a broken leg. We managed to make contact with him about a week later and he said he was in Cape Town and would come and pay us the following week when he returned. We also have been unable to make contact with him since.

This same guy Paul arrived at our office in Northern Park to purchase chemicals. He then showed me his card, and as I needed rubbish removed I asked if he could do it? He wanted to do it there and then. Well he took his time and I had to leave to fetch my wife from the airport. I had asked him how much and he said he will sort it out later. Well then the true personality came out when I was not there to give him his money, and told one of my staff that he was not leaving until he had the cash in his hand. Not like we were going anywhere? He made my staff member give him the cash from his own wallet. He then arrived on Monday to purchase more chemicals from my brother who was not there on Saturday, and not only convinced my brother that he " was my FRIEND " and that he would come and pay for them the following day, he also got my brother to give him petrol money. We have never seen him since. This guy must be stopped! I am in the process of trying to get a case of fraud against him. Let's get this Fraud arrested and brought to book for being the fraud that he is.

This same guy was sitting on the curb at the petrol station at Athlone circle PMB at around 0630 on Jan 31st. He first admired my car and kept his distance, very clever. Then he started his pitch. He told me he had just dropped his daughter at the bus stop in town in Pietermaritzburg, she was on the way to PTA for uni he said. Then went on to say he left his wallet/phone at home and ran out of petrol. He drives a Pajero v6 with stickers on the doors so I thought he was probably quite well off. Asked me for R150, I said R50 only, trying to minimise my risks. Then he says "give me R100 and I'll EFT you R150 tomorrow, here's my business card." So I fell for it. Needless to say, the number (078 770 7671) is out of service and he never intended on paying back. He wears an earring and has slightly dyed hair, peroxided and trashy.

This man Paul has purchased a lounge suite from me. He paid R500 and owes me a balance of R1,400. He has not responded to my calls and is now on the run. I will be laying a charge of theft with the SAPS.

I have just been caught by the same man who calls himself Paul, "The Rubble & Refuse Masters" and "The Maintenance & Handyman Master". He wanted to buy a baby goat for his daughter. He only had R150 with him. I said I would keep the goat until he brought the rest of the money. He then said "look at her she is disappointed". He said he would bring R350 the next day (16/11/2013). He has not come to pay as promised. Then I saw the above complaint.
