Olx scammer

hi there. I have been involved in a usual Olx.co.za scam well at the time I didn't know. I was contacted by zandi Peterson +27747661041 to engage in an eft transfer to pick up the goods. the eft apparently went through from +2784000151070569 (I phoned the bank and they said it was an unprocessed payment so I assumed the account actually does exist but that's not the case) why can a bank not verify an account or anything? well the answer I got was it is against privacy although you asking if it exists not for credentials. the driver picked up the goods and in a rush I didn't take down number plate or take pictures etc.

well good luck, fraud cases i would assume just get opened and closed daily, i don't think the driver will do anything, unless he has an alternate contact or address. for all you know he is going to false testify, or if you lucky you will nail him. Good luck. if i had known he was scamming earlier i would have gotten his phone imei from the police( well they would have gotten it for themselves)

just random coincidence i went past both places, place A (he threatened me) place B ( the driver was scared id get out of the car watching as i went past). well assuming it is their base or operations, no one says they keep the stuff there so evidently there is no real proof, besides the few hints he gave me.

It's always worth trying. If we don't try then we KNOW we won't succeed, but if we try, at least there is a chance...I really just want justice... How did you know that he would be at that address?

Oh I'm so sorry. Well I found out that the police closed my case after less than a day because...well I guess that cop was just over it. But now a Conrad Robertson is looking into the case and he seems really on the ball so I'm very hopeful! He really has a lot of get up and go so here's to hoping! I also have the driver helping out now so let's wait and see. But the police are worried about proving his identity. Would you be able to identify him if you saw him again?

in anycase i wasnt wearing glasses to see the numberplate

  • Username5377 22 Jan 2014, 02:23 PM

i didnt bother opening a case because a few people say that fraud here is not really looked at. with any wireless device if you have the mac address or imei number you can give that to the police. (considering if you have the manuals maybe its in there . you need the proof of purchase aswell. if you dont have those its pointless opening a case. well Tess i dont know if he actually lives there or was visiting there. and yeah he threatened me face to face "yeah keep on walking or else" i opened a half case, they told me its not worth it. police dont post up fake ads to catch them anyway... so they wont do anything worthwhile.

The police need as much information as possible. Their number is 011 952 4600 and my case number is 114/01/2014. Please tell them everything that you know!

  • Username5750 22 Jan 2014, 11:22 AM

SO DID YOU ACTUALLY SEE HIM? FLIP OLX IS USELESS!! THEY DON'T EVEN RESPOND TO EMAILS!!

  • Username5377 20 Jan 2014, 07:29 PM

I know tess I was also being nice, seems karma doesn't care . I was just to over expective. Seems banks don't even tell you if a deposit is made(and canceled), or if an account number exists, or even if they sent that sms, wtf. Even rica is just for show. If I knew it was this easy I would have grown up wanting to be a thief rather then a police officer.. Well I won't doubt the police don't have better things to do etc. Still a letdown

Well the idiot decided to threaten me around on the address (16 doris street, kensington) so I'm not sure if he lives there or if he was just there on christmas xD I swear he was imagining it as looking at checkers newspaper. I haven't gotten around to checking if he actually lives there. The driver sits around hotel oribi. I actually missed having the call traced cuz I realised too late... Yeah he works for phoenix cabs but noticed it was driver and passenger. Don't even know why police can't just put false ads in, I mean if they say they all do the same thing. Easy catch right?

  • Username5750 20 Jan 2014, 08:42 AM

Was the driver a taxi driver for phoenix cabs??

  • Username5750 20 Jan 2014, 08:40 AM

Any Idea of his real identity??

I was scammed in the exact same way!!! Let's take this AH down!! I refused to hand over the ipad until the money cleared in my account but he was very sweet and I am a nice, stupid, but nice person so I decided to trust him. He now has the item and I do not have my R5000.00. I want results!!
