Scammed

A person named Charles Moyana (not sure how true this is) offered to purchase goods that I had advertised on olx.co.za. He pretended to deposit money into my account. I received an sms and an email from my bank saying money was deposited so I proceeded to deliver the goods. He told me that I must give the goods to his driver at Easgate Shell garage which I did.2 days later the the payment into my account failed he said he did a cash deposit but it was a cheque. He now is ignoring all my calls. I have his cell  number and his drivers cell numberCharles (0765288735) Anderson his driver (0797381477)

Andrew Kalala wants to purchase 2 laptops from me. He sent me proof of payment this morning and asked if I could deliver to Houghton. I said once the money is in my account I could maybe deliver to Eastgate. He texted me now and wanted to know if I was on the way, that's when I got suspicious and googled him. His mail is andrewkalala@gmail.com and his phone is 071 729 6668. I hope someone can find him and stop him

i got a sms from a guy Andrew asking if the black berry was still for sale so I replied yes , long story short he requested banking details which I was cautious enough to give him an account which was not being used , then received a Nedbank notification sms confirming a payment of R5000 , I went onto the netbank site to verify the transaction and it said unsuccessful , I want these Fucking Assholes to get caught , but these fucking cops are in on these peoples activities

  • Dianne3 21 Jul 2014, 03:36 PM

Cannot understand why the Police do not go to this address for A. Kalala or whatever he calls himself. I opened a case and have given them this information regarding the address that I also found but I don't think they will take it any further, just a formality opening a case and a waste of time quite frankly. He will carry on scamming good honest people. Hope he rots in hell. He will have to answer for what he is doing either in this world or the next.

How do you do that before even seeing the item? same adress 5 Avenue Mansion, Cnr Elm str & St John Road, upper Houghton. Something told me to google this adress and come across this scam. I told him to drop the deal. Thank you guys otherwise i would have been scammed.

I was also scammed by Andrew Kalala on Thursday 26th June, 2014. Got "proof of payment of R9500.00" into my account and he sent a "driver" round to collect my computer advertised on Gumtree. Also got copy of ID which turned out to be false as the four digits before the last three did not start with a "5" which is for males and his was a female's ID. Nedbank also confirmed that Bank Notification was indeed genuine but that the name of the person was a female, S. Kalala so could be his wife or relation. I went onto Facebook and found a profile for a Sandrine Kalala and from photos I saw, her husband looks remarkably like the person in the fake ID. He also asked me to deliver my computer to Houghton but I said no but got scammed anyhow. Had I been stupid enough could have been hijacked or worse. He sent a "24/7" cab to pick up computer from me. I have opened a case with Sandton Police with all the info I had and I hope that he gets caught, the sooner the better as he has no conscience and will continue to do this to other people. I also got his last phone number which just says "subscriber not available, try again later" and also the yahoo address when he sent me copy of his fake ID. Hope he rots in hell.

  • Username5381 2 Mar 2014, 02:23 PM

Its difficult if not impossible to catch them, because Charles never reveals himself and he is smart. I don't think we will be able to catch them and even if we do we need proof and it needs to go through the police who have to much of a backlog already. Unfortunately we have to take the loss and move on

  • Midrand 1 Mar 2014, 08:19 PM

I also ran into 'Andrew Kalala' recently. He offered to buy an XBox off me from Gumtree, and 'made a deposit' to my account. It was from Nedbank, and the proof of payment looked on the level. Luckily I'm fairly cautious, and checked the proof of payment on Nedbank's website (most banks allow you to do an immediate online verification of a proof of payment). The verification came back negative, so I knew he was a scammer. I did a Facebook search and came up with a very dodgy guy with just two friends. A search of his email address (andrewkalala@yahoo.com) brought me here. He supplied an address at 5 Avenue Mansions, Corner Elm Street and St. Johns Road, Upper Houghton. Anyway, I told him to get stuffed. As Fred Peach used to say on TV: Keep 'em peeled.

  • Ash5 31 Jan 2014, 02:02 PM

Andrew (0822904588) tried to scam me today. A good tip is to always check the phone number by searching in Google. You might not get a hit all the time, but because of posts like these that show these mobile numbers, I was able to see the comments by Allan above. Thanks for that.

  • Username5381 23 Jan 2014, 01:30 PM

I'm the poster of this, If any of you get your hands on these guys please pound them solid. I know I wont get my stuff back I have reported the serial numbers of the devices as stolen but that's all I can do. I also read in the Kempton express news paper about the same thing that happened to 3 people. In the paper there is a number of the officers to contact maybe the information will help them. Det W/O Lawrence Modiba and Det Sgt Monare on 011-393-8600 Keep us updated
