SCAM - bad cheque paid out for the sale of phone

I was trying to sell my samsung S4 brand new still in the box. This guy told me he was in Saldanha and will send a friend to look at the phone and then send payment via eft. The friend met with me at a coffeeshop and looked at the phone. He then phoned his friend who was supposedly in Saldanha Bay to say that the phone was good. The guy said that he would only make a payment from FNB to FNB. He then deposited a bad cheque for the phone which came through as an sms to say that the money was paid into my account. Two days later (once the phone was long gone) FNB reported the fraud to us. So the SCAM is that they appear to transfer the funds, it reflects immediately as it is FNB to FNB and then when it clears as a bad cheque the funds is removed from your account. By then it would have seemed like everything was legit and your goods are long gone. FNB says its your loss and clearly they are the only bank being caught in this since the guy was very specific that it had to be an FNB account.
