I received a text message from Sonia Owen (073 319 9919)indicating that my mobile number was chosen randomly in the 2014 Nokia Global Promotion, with a reference number. I had to forward my home address where the prize would be delivered to, and was also notified that I will be responsible for payment of the courier delivery. I later received a text message from Jonh Botha (mobile number 0710356011) the alleged courier, and was told to make a payment of R850 for the courier service. I called him and asked for which courier company he works. He indicated UPS courier services in Cape Town. While on the phone with him I searched the courier company and got the contact details. John asked which bank is closest to me and said he will send a text with the banking details where I should make a transfer to. While waiting for the account number I contacted UPS couriers in CT and was told that there is no one by that name working for them, and that they are aware of the fraud going around as their email server was hacked recently. John texted me back with an FNB account number in the name of T Ndlela which he said was the secretaries account. This FNB acc number is 624535986228. I asked him for an email address where I can send the confirmation to, but he phoned me very upset and said I must just follow their instructions. I told him that I have investigated him at UPS and that I know he is a fraudster.
