I'm not sure if this means anything, but I keep on getting sms's that say they from ABSA, this is how it reads: "Absa: We have noticed that your account is currently inactive and has fees outstanding.  Please visit your nearest branch to make a deposit and avoid closure."
This after I have proof of payment, and why would any bank want to close your account because you have not used it for a month or so?  Makes no sense.
Thought I'd just put this out there.

Me too! Did not know it was Absa, my message says "We have noticed that your account is inactive and has outstanding fees. Please make a deposit to avoid closure. For help please visit your nearest branch." No mention of the bank. And I don't even have an ABSA account...
