Fraudsters posting ads for cellphones for sale

I was recently scammed by a person who posted a Sony Xperia Z2 cellphone for sale for R4,000 on the OLX website. I enquired and was given http://www.indastechstore.wozaonline.co.za/ as evidence that this company does exist. I was also provided with two references from these people. Against my better judgement I paid for the phone and was advised that the phone would be couriered to me within 24 hours. I was given numerous excuses and told that I needed to pay an additional amount now for customs and taxes. I was furious, but was given a managers contact number (Frank Veite - 0110519078 or 0603305275). He requested for an e wallet transfer for the additional R555 and assured me the phone would be delivered by latest the next day. I have been waiting and still no phone. When I called the manager again, he now gave me another excuse that the courier wants more money. I refused to pay any more money. I then discovered that this was a scam. I subsequently called FNB, since I realised this was a scam and there was no cellphone. FNB advised that the money was withdrawn from an ATM in Rosettenville and the ATM has a camera. But I would need to report this for the police to investigate. Can you please advise if you can assist with this or please direct me to the correct department. I am reporting this so that these criminals are caught and arrested. I would hate for more people to be victims of this scam. They post ads using the following email addresses to scam people: lindatechlindatech3@hotmail.com or amandafash@outlook.com. Your assistance in this matter is much appreciated. Thank you

Hi Travis, I'm sorry to hear that these fraudsters scammed you as well. FNB told me the same thing, they cannot guarantee my money back. So, I know exactly how you feel. I'm still so angry about this and cannot comprehend how someone could do this, but we learn from our mistakes. Did you make payment to a Standard Bank Account? I contacted Standard Bank to report that account number, hoping they can help me trace these criminals. The cellphone number they gave me is 0603305275, it's a MTN number. But when I call now, it goes to voice mail. Maybe, we can go together to the police and get the location through the cellphone number. Let me know if you're keen on this. Kind Regards, Miriam

Hi, I had the same thing happen to me, although they didn't give me any other contact numbers other than the one on the indatech website which doesn't work. FNB now can't guarantee that they can get me my money back. I have the entire email trail and am busy investigating ways to trace them through their Blackberry IP Address. Please help as this money was from my insurance payout to replace my phone that was stolen from a break-in. So it's important for me.
