Junk mail scams

Placed an ad to sell cameras, projectors, light meters and various other photographic equipment in the Junk Mail. Was contacted by a Jonathan who stated that he was opening up a shop and needed them urgently. He took my banking details and sent me a "confirmation" of monies paid in. He sent his brother that evening to collect all items ... guess what? No money appeared and I have lost all the items. The police stated that they are not able to help me as I allowed them to remove the equipment from my home. They also took a lot of jewellery ... gold chains, bracelets and watches. Total cost lost is about R60 000. Stupid me!

25413619 I'd Caravan for sale this add is a scam, about 2 months ago he had a offload caravan for 40 000 and I remember the email address and also his story about just been divorced and staying in England and to pay for the divorce he must sell below price and you must pay money into his account .

Tiaan, the adage: If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Best advice, stay away. I think Junkmail have started removing his ads. All his items have been way under market value - already a suspicious sign. My friend responded to one of his other ads and when asked to see the item before paying on collection, the guy went silent. If anyone has been conned by this guy and have deposited money - they should immediately make a case with the police.Unfortunately the banks are useless and of no help, when you want to verify if an account is recent and has suspicious activity.

There is an add placed in the blackberry phones section.this guy is scaming people by asking for a deposit and then saying he will post the phones to u whereby u pay the balance.he advertises the phones for even below manufacturers cost .e.g blackberry torch x 4 for R1200 for all.he asks you where u live and then say he stay somewhere far so u can't collect. He also prefers counter to counter delivery after u have paid him a R500 dep and he is alway aat the time u phone on the way to the post office so we must do the deposit before he gets there.he sounds like a white guy on the phone, but has a V Pillay bank account num he gives u. He phones u back full of confidence and tells u the phones are still available and he has just put some new ads in this morning saying he he has 8 now for R1200 which includes blackberry torches with paper work.all he wants is ur deposit.this is a huge scam and he will get the innocent people. His phone number on the ad is 0792834179 Please do something about this. Tnks
