After reading all of your comments I really feel something needs to be done to this person - whoever he/she may really be.
We too fell for this disgusting scam after we ordered a doberman pinscher puppy from him - he posed as Roux Johan. As most of the above comments, we too paid a deposit of R2750.00 and the day the dog was scheduled to fly from George to Lanseria, I received a suspicious phone call from "WorldCare Pet Insurance" stating that I had to pay R6500.00 for a ventilation crate. Of course Roux Johan had put his phone off and the fake company kept mailing me, phoning me and even threatened to take me to court if I did not make the payment. I refused to pay and told them I was sending friends to fetch the puppy from the airport - they immediately dropped the call and the numbers are engaged, to this very day.
What makes me even more infuriated is the fact that a few days later, I stumbled across the name Roux Johan, who was advertising Doberman puppies on Gumtree and OLX. Both adverts had the same seller's name, only different cellphone numbers and different locations - Lichtenburg and Pietersburg, respectively.
So I avoided them and mailed other breeders. I received a reply from a Marius Potgieter. I requested that he send me proof that the dogs exist - by taking a photo of one with a recent newspaper/magazine in the picture itself. I also demanded more info: address, ID, phone numbers etc. It all seemed fine until I received his snotty reply, again with awful grammar and spelling mistakes and the name Lorry Nacy - his wife.
I really feel something needs to be done to stop this person. What can I do to help? Any suggestions?
