Pietermaritzburg - A traditional healer and another man have been arrested for murder, after the head of an 18-year-old was found in a freezer in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Saturday.
After being questioned on Friday, the 30-year-old man alleged that he had killed Loyiso Jokweni in December last year on the instructions of a traditional healer, Colonel Jay Naicker said.
"Police searched a house in France location and discovered the head [of Jokweni] in a freezer at the house. Police also found a dead snake in the freezer," he said.
Jokweni, who lived in Inanda, was visiting his sister in the area when he went missing on Christmas Day. His family reported him missing to police on December 28, Naicker said.
The 18-year-old's decapitated body was found on January 17. His family managed to positively identify him from his clothes.
The 47-year-old traditional healer from Mfakathini and the 30-year-old are expected to appear in court soon.
