This really brought tears to my eyes - hope it does the same to everyone that reads it. Maybe the government must implement a legislation similar to New Zealand. You cannot have animals until officials look into your background and check your home and see if you are fit enough emotionally and financially to have an animal.

It's about time goverment realizes that cruelty to an animal by an individual will and cannot have respect for humann life either. If they are capable of such cruelty to animals what are they capable of doing to a baby that pisses them off or another human life. In a nut shell if we teach our children to love and respect animals we will have a society of caring for animals and each other - could possibily lead to less violent crimes in SA over all. It's all about love which leads to peace harmon

To say "they are worse than animals", is an insult to the animal. No beast large or small is capable of the atrocities that mankind commits, often in the name of our "humanity". All humans should be educated that we are dependant on our environment (plants and animals) for our own psychological well being and survival! So we must not be selfish and think of only human lives. We have domesticated certain animals for our own pleasure. We need to at least care for them if we remove their natural survival instincts and natural environment.

Animals deserve to be treated fairly and with the respect they deserve - their love is unconditional and no human would ever give you that

The world is a cruel and crazy place a lot of the time and amongst all of that animals suffer every day of their lives, we have the opportunity to help stop the pain and suffering that they endure. We can all stand together and fight against crimes against animals. They feel all that we feel and if you ever think that an animal has no feelings look into its eyes and see what is sees and what it fears.

Humans who participate in animal cruelty are unfortunately lost in & to themselves. They have lost their innate connection to this planet, their divine purpose in life, dignity, sense of pride, love and respect for all living things. They still need to walk a long evolutionary path - a person who abuses animals will abuse humans, the planet and all other life. If animal abuse is not severely punished, a basic building block of human education and peaceful societal interaction becomes redundant.
