Does anybody know if that Id is fake or not? Can we put it on Facebook and ask if anybody knows this guy?

This Martin guy advertised a Nissan Champ Bakkie. 26 July 2018. His "sister" Monique Botha placed the ad on Facebook. He also told me he is from Laingsburg. I did a Cashsend for R1000 which was withdrawn at the ATM in Bloemfontein at the showgrounds. The Police told me that they can not just trace a number. I must open a fraud case and it can take days and by then the number doesn't exits anymore. The whatsapp number is 0784788185 and phone number 0733944976. Why can people just get away with schemes like this and he known that the Police will not do much to find him. If anybody have a contact that can trace the number let us all stand together and find this crook. He will be scamming a lot more people.

It is so sad that people like him gets away with honest peoples money. I told him I`m getting married in 2 weeks time and I an not afford to lose any money and he promised he is on his way to deliver the bakkie in George.

There was an ad on OLX for Martin Botha selling a Ford Bantam Bakkie for R16000. My husband called and he wanted R3000 to deliver the vehicle from Laingsburg today as he needed the cash. He sent me the same ID number and papers and I asked for proof of address which he didnt have. I then googled the name and found your email. This saved us because I took pictures and sent it to him laughing telling him to try again. He replied saying to me "Kaffer poese" Luckily he didnt get away with this. The number he sent the pictures from via whatsapp was 078 198 1288 and the number was 078 153 8543. I am thankful that we have google before people can rip us off. It helps telling your story online.

I'm a another victim for this scam. Almost exactly the same story and pictures of this nice Bantam for a good price on gumtree. I told Matin Botha (If that is his real name) that this vehicle is for my mother in law and she does not have a lot of money so please if this is a scam he should rather drop the call. He told me that he does not want to sit in jail for a small amount of money and it is not a scam. So it continued were he stated he is in Klerksdorp and somebody from Carltonville is on there way to look at the vehicle. I told him that we are leaving Kempton now and please he has to wait for us. He said first come first serve but if I pay a deposit he will keep it for us. So I paid R3000 via E-wallet. After that he did pick up the phone ones and that was it. Now his phones is of. It happened today 3 March 2018.
