The company trading as ABIG (Africa Business Investment Group) sells advertising in their magazines, but does not actually print or distribute any of these magazines. ABIG only prints a couple of sample magazines, and uploads a digital copy to their website. We have confirmed this with a previous employee, by contacting the other advertisers in their digital copy, and by confirming this with the company that prints their sample magazines.
The magazines involved in the scam are titled Living and Women of Africa. There are others advertised on their website, but they do not form part of our claim.
The content of the magazines has also been flagged as a copyright infringement by the popular digital publication platform ISSUU - which has subsequently taken down their listings.
We are currently pursuing criminal charges against the company and it's directors and encourage anyone that has been caught in the scam to come forward to help strengthen the case before it goes to court.
