The hit-and-run driver believed to be responsible for the death of a five-year-old girl has handed herself over to cops.
Little Dejay de Wet was walking in Rocklands with her uncle when a car slammed into her at the intersection of Merrydale and Spine Road last week.
Witnesses told the Daily Voice that the driver had stopped but then sped off without checking on Dejay who lay dying in the road.
Police spokesman Inspector Ian Williams said a 28-year-old woman had handed herself over to Mitchells Plain police the day after the incident.
"The woman was released on a warning and is due to appear in court soon," said Williams.
