WhatsApp Unsolicited subscription

Received the following message on my cell phone:
Sending WhatsApp now works on your cell 0*******36. Click to setup http//ems.cx/w/?m=27*******36 43890 subscription service R7/day Opt Out dial 0110621412.
(some numbers are replaced with asterisks)When I dial 0110621412 it is constantly engaged. It seems they are going to deduct R7 per day if I do not "Opt Out". This is clearly a scam and constitutes fraud.

    I got a message to say that whatsapp must be upgraded because it is going to expire. So suddenly the message came up to say that same as above messages and that I will be charged R7 pd. I did not even download the whatsapp Please help as I def does not want this

    They fraudulently subscribed me. They insisted that I subscribed and did not want to refund me, initially. But I waged an online war against them, Mira Networks and Cell C. I obtained indisputable proof that Kulaville's subscription system was broken. Mira Networks, complicit in this whole saga was just as unhelpful as Cell C and Kulaville. But I got my refund.     Today we received an sms notification via our MTN / MWEB modem advising. Name Number 2783921007543889 Content You have received a video preview. Click to open XXXXXXXXXXX ...(16 Only) 31923 subscription service R7 day Opt Out dial 0110621412 Time: 24 12 2012 12 46 14 We did not subscribe to this. MTN and MWEB should not be permitting this sort of thing to sneak through. Tried to phone the 011 number from my cellphone and got a message to say I won't receive any further subscriptions. It is not my cell number that is the problem, it is my mobile internet number that is going to be charged with this. Last time something like this happened an extra couple of hundred was added to our MWEB account before we managed to get it resolved

    Thank you for the information Blaque. My apologies, but how do we know that you are not somehow involved with the scam. ems.cx want me to enter my cellphone number and click a button labelled "Unsubscribe". This is so suspiciously like phishing! I would rather have a phone number I could call and speak to a human to find out what their intentions are. That way I could verify THEIR credentials before exposing myself to further unsolicited messages.

    That makes three of us. You are not subscribed, unless you opened the URL/link in the text message. But just in case I'm wrong, check your account/statements. If you are being charged go to the domain ems.cx and unsubscribe. If you have a Smartphone, download Avast! Mobile and block these unsolicited messages/spam. The message I received used the bzm.tv domain where I checked my number. Basebone.com owns both ems.cx and bzm.tv domains

    I had the same message. I definitely didn't subscribe. MTN were of no use. ( Lost me as a customer). I did phone the 0110621412 number and received an sms from support@doublemt.com saying I will receive no further support messages. ( to something I never asked for). I no wait to see if my account stays stable. There is a website www.doublemt.com. Spain and SA contact numbers with what looks like a Skype number. Talk about Dodgey.
