I phoned, and the guy wanted me to first buy 3xR200 telkom vouchers and sms the pin codes to him before the "reference number" can be activated nd the money sent to me.

jsut recieved sms - Won R250 000 from LG Promo... I phoned J.Annie as directed on 0785568591 & got a foreigner who I battled to understand & had him repeat 5 times what I was to do the recieved the winning!!!!! BUY 2 x Telkom prepaid vouchers for R200 each & sms the pin numbers & my name & address for him to submit to LG IN UK for them to relaese my prize....

I won R250000! NOT! When i spoke to them they said i have to pay to have the cheque sent to me, same old story! I have reported this to the police, whats the chance they do anything about this.

First I received an sms that I won R450000 from executive powerball promotions. Payment was suppose to be made by a bank in the UK, I had to call Mr Jake 0722305022. Obviously a scam as when I asked for the bankdetails to pay the so called "stampduty" it was an ABSA acc belonging to a person not a company. This morning another sms, I have won R350000 in the Coca Cola free promotion, I then insisted that if it is not a scam I want the money pd immediately with no cost to me and obviously they didn't respond and all of a sudden none are answering their phones.

My story is similar to those above, i.e. Nokia promotion, blah, blah, R250 000 etc. The number to contact is: 0813742597. what I want to know is why can't these numbers be traced through RICA registration and these phones made immobile?

I rec'd an SMS, stating ther following info: "Congrstulations! You have just won R165,000 from NOKIA YEARLY PROMOTION, Ticket No. 8107. To claim your money, please contact Mrs Lebo Khumalo now on 0765018700. So i phoned the number & a lady answered, sounding all confused & told her a piece of my mind- that i was from the SAPS & that this call was recorded & that she must stop sending these hoax sms's. it also hapened to one of my colleagues. she just said, that i am not serious & put the phone down on me. i suggest that number given, should be at least traced, so the percon can be arrested & the number must be blocked off.

Congrats! Your mobile no has won R450k in FIFA Worldwide Promotion. Ref no etc etc. SMS comes from 079 783 2156 (not Rica'd) - I checked. Tells you to phone Christopher Walter at 078 050 3244 (his no is Rica'd)!!

Hi Just received same message as all the others with ref SAF066/2011 call Mr Clintin (can't even spell Clinton) on 073 537 5070 from bulk e-mail messaging company named Caster.com. Luckily for me I'm very aware of such scams and did not bother to respond. I would however like to know when these fraudsters get caught? First time I heard about them was on 94.7 Highveld radio.

Daneil Lamola. for your cash price" FROM 0825192449 So I phoned him and he sounded confused and his English suck!!! and he asked me when did I get the SMS, wtf.. So I spend 10min to try to understand what I must do o get my money, so he gave up and sms'ed me what to do to get the money.... Next sms "nokia procedure for your transfer of 95, 000.00 You full name: You I?d number: Your account details: And also we need VODACOM airtime of R360 to activate your SA77K here in the system before your winning Prize of 95, 000.00 can be transfer into your bank account, Airtime R360 must be amount R360 send it to this number for us to proceed and transfer your R95, 000.00 into your account. Mr. Daniel Lamola" FROM 0763238844 In the beginning he told me I can also give him my passport number.
