Thanks so much for posting on this website. I was about to transfer money for a Cavie to Michelle in Springbok who also kindly forwarded me a copy of her ID and proof of address. The problem was that her ID picture looked like a south african and her accent was definitely not. I still thought I was being overly suspicious and then happened upon these reports. I found a whole lot of other adverts in wegotads for various kinds of puppies for sale in different cities in the northern cape. They all had different cell phone numbers but the same number for whatsapp namely 0739563891. I feel sorry for all the legitimate people out there trying to sell puppies.

    Hi All,
we were devastated to only find this after being scammed by the exact same people, a criminal case has been opened and we even emailed our story to Carte Blanch so if any of you have case numbers please can you send it to us, or email your story to Carte Blanch, we are trying to link all contact details etc to see if we can track them down. Our case number is CAS270/8/2015 please contact Lt Swanepoel at or phone on 0713521837, if we get all information together we can stop them as your posts is a year ago and they are still at it. We can also forward all our info should you need it. Please if I can stop them from scamming one other person! we are flagging all their ads on websites as often as we can to try and slow them down...
    Good luck all,

I was so pleased that I decided to find the kennels that the pups were being advertised from and came across that it is all a scam. We were just going to deposit R2500. Thanks for the site it really saved us money

My advise is to always do a google image search on pet adds. Usually they take their photos of US of Canadian breeder websites.

I have just been through the whole setup. Melanie Pieters 0786154238 is a scam. They now sell Applehead Chiwawas. Surely they can be traced on their cell number. Thanks to all

On the 23/05/2014 I sent a lady melanie pieterson at this same address in northern cape R3500 for an american pit bull. A guy called bryant cobi from sky animal post then contacted me and I sent him R6500 for crate deposit and vaccines. Then a 'vet' valeron bastein from pet taxi delivery man called me today to tell me the puppy was in joburg and if I didnt pay a refundable amount of R12,500 for permits the pup would be quarentined for 90 days. I am in Zimbabwe and got an agency in sa to go check it out only to find there never was a puppy and it was all a scam. I have lost like R10,000 but I will fight it and not give up. This is cruel. Please beware of these animals. The bank account names we sent money to are betrand wohbenyi vachinde macdonald teboko rannyama bothwith first national bank in south africa. I am trying to find every way to fight this from here and get my money back but how to see them all locked up where they should be

I was scammed today. And I am sure by these same people!! I purchased a Cavie through a woman (name withheld here). She even sent me her ID and a proof of address... all nicely falsified unbeknownst to my naive little eyes. The woman was payed yesterday and today (28/05/2014)I got a call from the above "courier company" saying that they have the puppy but I need to pay R3550.00 to get it to my doorstep. This is for the so-called "crate" that is safe for the dog to fly in. This is when I knew this was all a scam. On calling the woman her accent was so thick and difficult to understand and it was finally clear to me that this was no South African white afrikaans speaking female. PLEASE BEWARE!!!
