Fraudulent shuttle service

My husband placed an ad on gumtree looking for a liftclub to his place of work in Umhlanga. A lady by the name of Sally Griffiths contacted him via email and offered a shuttle service for R500 a month. He asked for all the details and she sent them through,  however she said that she only has two seat left and that we need to pay a 50% deposit to secure a seat and to register him with the department of transport under their company so as to be covered in case of accidents and so forth. I did the transfer via internet banking using the cash send option as requested by the scammer. I also asked for confirmation of my husbands details aswell as confirmation that payment was received. She did so in an email. A half hour later I received from a Roslyn Rania an admin clerk at the department of transport. This is what struck me as odd as all government departments email addy's have a dot gov dot za; this one said I then call the department of transport here in durban to verify the this shuttle service and was told that no such thing exists nor do they have any employee by that name. I then called by bank to see if the cash was redeemed and indeed the scammer withdrew the cash less than 20 minutes have I sent the money. I have informed Scamstop aswell as the department of transport fraud unit.
