Friesian horse scam

Undoubtedly I have been subjected to, but fortunately not taken in by, a scam. Worringly, it has proved extremely difficult to report this, as the SAPS email addresses for reporting such crime are inoperative, and nobody really seems very interested is the overall impression I get. This is sad, because I have no doubt that the "scammer" will catch people with this story. I became suspicious on perusing the original email from the "scammer", thatthe horse in the photos that came with the email (only one photo attached), looked like a topclass horse. I decided to send an email in response to the “scammer” to see ifI could get more detail. I received a speedy reply to my email, and afterreading the contents I had no doubt that it was a scam. I did an image searchof the photographs on the Internet, and I was able to identify from which sitethe “scammer” had lifted the pictures, saying falsely that they were of thefictitious horse called “Molly Loe”. The email came originally to a schoolteacher contact of my husband’s, who is not connectedwith the horse world. He asked her to forward it to him, so that he could letme look at it. As I am an equestrian, he knew that I would have more idea as towhether the story rang true or not – it instantly made me suspicious! The lastemail I received from the “scammer” shows that she is getting impatient for aresponse! Incidentally, the web page where the “scammer”lifted the photos from is: Read from the bottom upwards to get the right chronological order of mails:------Original Message-----From: Heila Reichel []

Subject: FRIESIAN MARE NEEDS A NEW STABLEHello,I have this interesting offer .I am hoping you will be interested or knowsomeone who is.I have this Friesian mare that I want to relocate. Her name isMolly Loe. She is 1.60cm. Expressive floating gaits make her easy to sit and apleasure to ride. Her calm, intelligent and kind nature makes her a dependablepartner on trail and in new situations. She is sweet, kind and a real peoplepleaser. Bonds deeply with her humans. Her uses are limitless. Happily hacks outon trails alone or with others. Jumps logs, goes through water and overbridges.LOVES to be groomed and fussed over. Excellent work ethic and thriveson praise. Great show ring partner.Sound, no vices and no additionalmaintenance. Easy keeper, great feet-goes barefoot.

She is currently in Botswana.I have joined my husband who was formerly workingin Botswana and was transferred last month to Kameroun.I was hoping to take heralong with me that is why my husband had to go ahead to make arrangements.Unfortunately my husband decided that it was too expensive ,the importationprocedure too complex and above all there was not enough space for her herewith us.

So I have traveled and left her in Botswana.Since we can not bring here and shecan not stay forever in Botswana,my husband has asked me that I give to anyoneback home in RSA or nearby who has the accommodation , experience and viable totake care of her.So if you are interested we will like to know the kind ofaccommodation you have , your experience with horses and also assure us thatyou can take good care of her. Please answer us honestly because our priority isthat she goes to a good stable.

Now concerning how to get her to you.We are giving her away for R8,000 whichbasically covers transportation to you and delivery expenses to your deliveryaddress anywhere in RSA or nearby. We have an agent Mrs Kajane who willtransport and deliver the mare to you.As we proceed we will link both of you.Soplease if you are interested then get back to me.My husband Dawie, will like totalk with you if you are interested. His number is  +23772892373 .

I received the emails starting yesterday. I responded and then did some internet searching and found this site. THANK YOU!!! Because i agree with ShabeerMoosa....These assholes!!! Genuine people need genuine help and there are honest and genuine people willing to help, but these jerks are destroying trust and ruining the good human nature we have all worked so hard to maintain. Our poor children!!!

I started getting these emails yesterday. There were 4 or so pictures attached. I did a google image search and some of them came up they were an Arabian horse!!!

Aparently this gal is a regular and just changes up the story a bit. Funny thing is, if you read the email to me today, she has delivery all aranged for me for the small "free" price of $1500..."which basically covers all pending bills /expenses plus all transportation and delivery expenses to your delivery address at Gobabis in USA."

No way would $1500 cover all that here in the US!!! And where in the world is Gobabis USA??? When did I get an address there???

I pray no one falls for this.

I too thought it would be good to keep them strung along to keep them busy so they aren't messing with so many others, and to give them a taste of their own medicine. In this case, I wish I was good at spite and making people pay so they would feel the pain and stop their own madness they are causing others.

I just received the same email one day ago. I picked up the broken English and realized there was something fishy. I'm just basically going to keep them hanging and hanging. These stupid assholes

I actually received emails from this woman today. Except she said the horse is in Zimbabwe and they moved but it is too expensive for them to take molly-loe with and that they actually giving her away but I need to pay the R8000 for the transport to South Africa. She is getting impatient with me now I asked for the stable manager no and transport company they using as I have friends in Zimbabwe that will go look at her take food for the trip and load her onto the float. I have not received another email since 2pm which is just showing she is scamming because she hasn't stopped emailing until now

this person/persons is most like using our Namibian address and details. Please do not believe it or even make contact. Please report it here and let every one know it is a major scam and misuse of others identity.

  • Bettina 30 Jul 2015, 04:37 PM

  • Sandy17 24 Jun 2015, 08:44 PM

Oh yeah, JEAN: I don't think any of use denies, that THE horse exists (how could we, there are a lot of photos. We just found out, the owners try to betray people and get their money. Tried to tell me, costs only about 300 Euro to fly the horse from IRELAND to GERMANY. And suddenly in the middle of the Email the airplane became a ship. Maybe they ment one of the little planes that can land on water.... Wonder if that JEAN is part of that crime-family...

  • Sandy17 24 Jun 2015, 08:37 PM

Got an Email, too from that person. She found an add on the German web where I was searching for a horse....

I just received the exact same e-mail (word for word) with 9 pictures attached at my work e-mail adress. The only difference is that the e-mail adress of the sender is now "". (All of my equestrian connections usually uses my private e-mail adress). I immediately sensed this could be a scam as it sounds very similar to a scam that the Doorndraai Friesian stud warned people about and googled to see if I could validate anything and found this report. This is just to let everyone know that this person is still active with this crime...

  • Heather7 9 Mar 2015, 12:06 PM

  • Vee Shannon 9 Dec 2014, 12:33 AM

3 months later and she is stupid enough to send me another email. I strung her along and eventually let her know than I knew what she was up to. How do we stop this? She is obviously making money or she would have stopped!

  • Anna8 4 Dec 2014, 07:05 PM

  • Vee Shannon 8 Sep 2014, 02:09 PM
